Position Overview

Due to continued sales growth, we are expanding our Service

team. The Field Service Technician will be responsible for installation,

maintenance, repair, calibration, and certification of Fischer X-ray

fluorescence (XRF) systems and related material analysis instrumentation.

This role requires a highly motivated technical professional

capable of working independently in customer environments across the United

States. The ideal candidate will have strong electronics troubleshooting

skills, mechanical aptitude, and experience working with X-ray or laboratory

instrumentation.

Essential Job Functions

  • Install, configure, and commission XRF and material analysis systems at customer sites.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repair, and calibration of instrumentation.
  • Conduct instrument certifications and performance verifications.
  • Troubleshoot complex electronic, mechanical, and software issues using schematics and diagnostic tools.
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and company protocols.
  • Train customers in equipment operation, safety procedures, and basic maintenance.
  • Provide technical support via phone, email, and on-site service visits.
  • Complete detailed service reports and required regulatory documentation.
  • Communicate recurring technical issues and improvement opportunities to internal teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the service organization

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or a Technical certification in electronics, electrical technology, mechanical technology, instrumentation, engineering technology or a related technical field required.
  • 1–2 years of relevant technical experience troubleshooting electronic systems required; field service and travel experience required. Experience working in regulated environments (radiation, FDA, ISO) is required.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic diagnostics including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and related test equipment is required
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings required
  • Must be willing to travel up to 85% locally/domestically
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to federal government/military contract requirements

This is a Permanent position based out of Windsor, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $80000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
