Job Title: Solar InstallerJob Description

This role focuses on installing solar panels on existing carports using SolarEdge systems while maintaining exceptional safety and quality standards. You will perform mechanical and electrical installation tasks, manage wiring, and ensure all work meets project specifications and safety requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Install solar panels on existing carports, ensuring secure mounting and proper alignment.
  • Work with SolarEdge systems, including associated components and equipment, following manufacturer guidelines.
  • Perform wire management, including routing, securing, and organizing DC circuitry and other wiring to meet safety and quality standards.
  • Use mechanical knowledge of solar systems to assemble racking, mounts, and other structural components.
  • Lift, hold, and position solar modules and related equipment safely during installation.
  • Assist with installation of conduit and other electrical components as required for the solar system.
  • Follow installation plans and drawings; use blueprint reading skills where applicable to interpret project layouts.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and fall protection at all times, including harnesses, when working at heights.
  • Maintain a strong safety focus by following all site safety procedures, reporting hazards, and participating in safety meetings as needed.
  • Support the team in completing installations within scheduled timeframes while maintaining high workmanship standards.
  • Inspect completed work for quality, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Keep the work area organized, clean, and free of hazards throughout the shift.
Essential Skills
  • Experience as a solar installer or in a closely related solar installation role.
  • Hands-on experience with solar installation, including mounting solar panels and assembling racking systems.
  • Knowledge of SolarEdge systems or similar solar technologies.
  • Proficiency in wire management and DC circuitry for solar installations.
  • Mechanical knowledge of solar systems, including racking, modules, and related components.
  • Ability to lift, hold, and carry solar modules and equipment safely throughout the workday.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time during 10-hour shifts.
  • Experience with electrical installation tasks, including working with conduit.
  • Familiarity with HVAC, electrical, or mechanical trades in a construction or field environment.
  • Ability to use and maintain PPE and fall protection equipment correctly, including harnesses.
  • Strong commitment to safety and ability to follow safety protocols consistently.
  • Capability to work effectively as part of an installation crew in an outdoor environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints or construction drawings is a plus.
  • Prior experience working on carport or elevated solar installations is beneficial.
  • Comfort working at heights while using fall protection equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on quality workmanship.
  • Ability to adapt to schedule or shift changes as project needs evolve.

Work Environment

This role is based on an outdoor job site installing solar panels on existing carports. Typical shifts are 10 hours, generally from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with potential adjustments as daylight hours change. The work requires standing for extended periods, working at heights while using fall protection and harnesses, and handling solar modules and equipment throughout the day. You will use PPE, including fall protection, and work with tools and equipment related to solar, electrical, and mechanical installation. The environment is physically demanding and safety-focused, with an expectation that you follow all site safety rules and wear appropriate protective gear at all times.

This is a Contract position based out of Fullerton, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
