Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Carpenter to join a growing commercial construction team. This company specializes in tenant improvements, remodels, and new construction projects throughout the Twin Cities area. Projects include schools, restaurants, office spaces, retail locations, and multi-family properties.

This position involves a mix of rough and finish carpentry work. The ideal candidate is dependable, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, can read blueprints, and works well both independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform wood and steel stud framing for commercial construction projects
  • Install backing, blocking, doors, frames, and hardware
  • Complete finish carpentry work including trim, casing, baseboards, and millwork
  • Install cabinets, vanities, fixtures, and other finish components
  • Assist with demolition and remodel work as needed
  • Hang and tape drywall
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and construction plans
  • Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently
  • Maintain quality workmanship while meeting project schedules
  • Work on various job sites throughout the Twin Cities metro area

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of carpentry experience
  • Commercial construction experience preferred
  • Proficiency in wood framing and steel stud framing
  • Strong finish carpentry skills
  • Experience installing doors, hardware, windows, cabinets, and trim
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
  • Skilled with hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to local job sites
  • Ability to pass an MVR check

Preferred Experience

  • Tenant improvement and remodel projects
  • Drywall hanging and taping
  • Schools, restaurants, retail, office, and multi-family construction projects
  • Previous experience in a commercial construction environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maple Grove, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
