Customer Outreach Assistant

Source One is a consulting services company and we’re currently looking for the following individual to work as a contractor to our direct client, a major energy services company in Burlington, NJ.

Job Title: Customer Outreach Assistant (Canvasser)

Pay Range: $25/hr - $28/hr (W-2)

The contract duration is initially 2 years

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm

** Hours will vary between 30-40/week

Our client is a major energy services provider with state-wide construction projects, and this individual will be responsible for the delivery of customer facing outreach communication materials (door hanger/letters) in the South Plainfield, NJ territory on a daily basis. This role will require extensive walking (the equivalent of a mailman). They will receive packet specifications to be printed, assembled and distributed to customers in the applicable locations statewide per the week’s schedule. If they see anything in the field of concerns or field questions that need to be answered, they will relay the information to the scheduler to ensure resolution and close out.

A Public Affairs Specialist will go out in the field with the Outreach Assistant for the first couple of weeks and train them on how to deliver the material, what to look out for, etc. Specific experience is not required although customer service or canvassing experience is preferred, and this individual must be able to effectively communicate. Spanish speaking is a plus but is not required.

This individual will work from the office in extreme weather (normal policy if it’s raining or icy, they don’t walk, but if it’s drizzling, they do walk). As well, anytime they don’t feel safe walking, they have the right to not walk it.

Qualifications:

- Ability to walk miles in a day - good physical condition a must

- Valid NJ Driver License is required

- High School Diploma

- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

- Preferred skills include campaign canvassing, door to door delivery

- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required

- Ability to travel throughout service territory - reimbursement will be provided for mileage and tolls
