Trailer Mechanic

Summary of the Position:

This position is responsible for the creation and/or re-fabrication of the vehicle upon which the tubes are mounted. This includes skids, saddles, containers, and mobile chassis, etc. All areas of performing fabrication work are included within this position such as welding, brazing, torch cutting, drilling, sawing, etc. Large sections of metal are used in the performance of this function therefore it is necessary to work in a team environment to complete the assigned task.

Responsibilities of the Position:

1. Create or repair the chassis/tube mounting vehicle as directed.
2. Follow safety guidelines while performing the task of this function.
3. Maintain low or nonexistent inventories of parts.
4. Follow established maintenance procedures for equipment being used.
5. Communicate with fellow workers to ensure smooth workflow.
6. Return company tools to their designated location upon completion and maintain good housekeeping habits..
7. Ability to install tires, bearings, and seals, suspension, air brake systems, and electrical systems while maintaining good teambuilding skills.
8. Fitting, fabrication work, plumbing skills, mechanical skills. Welding is not required but willing to learn.
9. Notifies the supervisor of all deviations as incurred.
10. Work in other areas of the facility at the direction of the area supervisor efficiently and effectively while maintaining good teambuilding skills.
11. Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED.
