Cnc Programmer

This salaried CNC Programmer role focuses on developing, optimizing, and supporting CNC programs and machine setups for complex production and prototype components. You will prepare customer CAD models for manufacturing, create and refine machining strategies, prove out new programs on the shop floor, and design or improve workholding solutions. Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams, you will help improve productivity, reduce cycle times, and ensure all parts consistently meet customer specifications and quality standards.

• Develop, modify, verify, and maintain CNC programs using Mastercam based on customer CAD models, engineering drawings, and manufacturing requirements.
• Perform CNC machine setup, prove-out, and validation of new and revised CNC programs to ensure safe and reliable production.
• Select appropriate tooling, workholding, machining strategies, feeds, and speeds to maximize part quality, efficiency, and productivity.
• Design, modify, and improve fixtures and workholding solutions to enhance setup efficiency, repeatability, and ease of use.
• Optimize machining processes to improve cycle time, tool life, machine utilization, and overall part quality.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, programming, fixture, and setup issues during production and implement effective corrective actions.
• Support new product introduction (NPI), First Article Inspection (FAI), and process development activities to ensure smooth launch of new components.
• Maintain CNC program revisions, setup documentation, tooling records, and related manufacturing documentation in an organized and controlled manner.
• Provide technical guidance and training to CNC operators and setup personnel to improve skill levels and process consistency.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T requirements, and customer specifications to ensure parts meet design intent.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to enhance processes and standards.
• Comply with company quality, safety, environmental, and operational policies at all times.
• Use Mastercam to develop optimized toolpaths, define stock and fixtures, verify toolpaths, and post-process CNC programs.
• Read, modify, troubleshoot, and manually edit CNC G-code as needed to refine programs and resolve issues.
• Set up CNC machining centers, including work offsets, tool offsets, fixture alignment, and machine verification.
• Perform first-piece validation and adjust machining processes to ensure quality, repeatability, tool life, and efficient cycle times.
• Use precision measuring equipment to perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections and address dimensional discrepancies.
• Manage electronic CNC programs and manufacturing documentation, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
• Navigate CNC machine controls and interfaces, including Fanuc controls, to load, run, and adjust programs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support production and continuous improvement efforts.

• Proficiency in CNC programming using Mastercam, including 2D and 3D programming, with the ability to develop machining programs from customer CAD models, engineering drawings, and supplied geometry.
• Hands-on experience setting up CNC machining centers, including establishing work offsets, tool offsets, fixture alignment, and verifying machine readiness.
• Ability to develop optimized toolpaths, select appropriate tooling, define feeds and speeds, and configure stock and fixtures within CAM software.
• Ability to read, modify, troubleshoot, and manually edit CNC G-code and G&M codes.
• Experience with CNC machining and setup, including troubleshooting machining, tooling, fixture, programming, and setup issues.
• Proficiency with Mastercam as the primary CAM software.
• Experience working with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.
• Familiarity with Fanuc CNC controls and their operation.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T requirements, and customer specifications.
• Proficiency using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, indicators, gauge pins, gauge blocks, and other inspection tools.
• Ability to perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections and identify dimensional discrepancies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for documentation and data management.
• Experience navigating CNC machine controls and interfaces and managing electronic CNC programs and related manufacturing documentation.
• Experience working with CAD/CAM software and common CAD file formats including STEP, STP, IGS, and IGES.
• Ability to safely use common shop hand tools and operate CNC machine controls and computer systems.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work on-site in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility and safely around CNC machinery, tooling, cutting fluids, and production equipment.
• Previous CNC programming and machining experience sufficient to build on with training for specific CNC programs and controls.

• Experience programming and setting up 5-axis CNC machining centers.
• Mastercam multi-axis programming experience.
• Experience with CNC probing systems or similar in-machine inspection solutions.
• Experience designing fixtures and workholding solutions for complex parts and setups.
• Experience machining complex 3D surfaces using high-speed machining strategies.
• Background in aerospace, defense, or other high-precision manufacturing environments.
• Experience working within AS9100 or similar quality management systems.
• Experience troubleshooting CNC post processors.
• NIMS certifications or equivalent machining certifications.
• Previous experience training or mentoring CNC operators and setup personnel.
• Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with heavy industrial CNC machinery and production teams.

You will work in a manufacturing environment alongside a team of approximately 50 employees, including around 10 CNC operators. The role involves working closely with Quality Control and Engineering departments in a setting that features heavy industrial CNC machinery and related equipment. The facility operates as a non-climate-controlled manufacturing space, so you should be comfortable working around CNC machines, tooling, cutting fluids, and production equipment for extended periods. The position is fully on-site and requires regular standing, walking, bending, and reaching while operating CNC machine controls, computers, and precision inspection tools. The environment is highly collaborative, with frequent interaction across production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure efficient, high-precision manufacturing.

This is a Permanent position based out of Desoto, TX.

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $79000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
