Description

  • The Human Resources Generalist will provide administrative support in all human resource functions including systems administration, benefits, leave management, employee relations, talent acquisition, onboarding, retention, training and development and overall compliance. This position plays a critical role in providing day to day professional human resources support and counsel to employees and leaders in accordance with organization policies, and with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the Human Resources department including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development; leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance management; employee handbook; and responding to general HR queries from employees, managers and company leadership.
  • Provide guidance and ensure consistent implementation of HR programs, policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Coordinate the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and facilitating the hiring decision.
  • Conduct or acquire screening checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Manage the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation, paperwork completion, and introduction to company policies and procedures.
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of employee training and development programs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files, HRIS data, and timekeeping records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in human resources and a high school diploma or equivalent or a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field with 2 years of relevant experience.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of a wide range of HR/legal standards & regulations, programs, processes, and tools in all areas ranging from recruitment, benefits, training, and payroll.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with HRIS; experience with ADP Workforce Now for onboarding, benefits administration, payroll processing and reporting preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.

This is a Contract position based out of Point Of Rocks, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.62 - $34.62/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
