Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

This role involves operating and supporting CNC Mazak machines in a machine job shop that produces a wide variety of parts for different customers each day. You will set up, load, and unload machines, measure and clean parts, and help ensure that machines and materials run safely and efficiently in a comfortable indoor environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up CNC Mazak machines according to job specifications and production requirements.
  • Load raw materials into machines and unload finished or semi-finished parts safely and efficiently.
  • Measure parts using tape measures, micrometers, and calipers to verify dimensions and quality.
  • Clean parts and work areas to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient machine shop environment.
  • Monitor machine performance to ensure proper function and identify any irregularities or issues.
  • Read and interpret blueprints or job instructions to complete machining tasks accurately.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting on machines and processes to resolve minor issues or escalate as needed.
  • Use hand tools and power tools to support machine operation, part handling, and basic assembly tasks.
  • Assist with a variety of machining tasks to support production of parts for multiple customers.
  • Follow all safety procedures and quality standards while working around CNC machinery and related equipment.

Essential Skills

  • Experience or strong interest in machine operation, particularly working around CNC equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude, including comfort using hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers to check part quality.
  • Capability to load and unload machines and assist with machine setup tasks.
  • Basic understanding of blueprints or willingness to learn blueprint reading.
  • Troubleshooting mindset to identify and address basic machine or process issues.
  • Ability to work safely in a machine shop environment and follow established procedures.
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn new skills with on-the-job training.
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Somerset, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
