Job Summary
A manufacturing company is seeking an SMT Manufacturing Technician to support an automated surface mount technology (SMT) production line used to manufacture printed circuit boards and electronic products. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to follow established procedures in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate SMT equipment, including screen printers, solder paste inspection machines, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and conveyor systems.
- Replenish component reels using automated splicing equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance and perform basic troubleshooting as needed.
- Escalate equipment or production issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Hand-place electronic components onto printed circuit boards when required.
- Perform basic daily and weekly preventive maintenance on production equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all safety policies and report safety concerns when observed.
- Follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Provide feedback and support continuous process improvement efforts.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least 6 months of machine operation, manufacturing, or assembly experience.
- SMT experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions and maintain quality standards.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
