ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
FAIR Orthopedic Logistics is seeking a dependable, safety-focused independent contractor driver for a recurring medical logistics route from Chattanooga, TN to Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola, FL returning to Chattanooga. The route is approximately 420–425 miles each way, or approximately 840–850 miles per round trip.This is a consistent, dedicated route with predictable operating days leaving from Chattanooga, TN on Tuesday with an overnight stay in Pensacola, FL & Wednesday returning to Chattanooga and repeating again on Friday with an overnight stay in Pensacola & returning to Chattanooga on Saturday. Hotel accommodations provided for two overnight stays in Pensacola each week. You will be driving a 26-Foot reefer truck; so, you must have experience and be comfortable with driving this equipment.
What You'll Do
- Transport medical and surgical products between designated locations
- Complete pickups and deliveries in a timely and professional manner
- Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Safely secure and protect healthcare-related freight
- Maintain professional communication with dispatch and customers
- Follow applicable safety, site-access, and recordkeeping requirements
- Safely load, unload, secure, lift, push, pull, and move delivery items as required
Weekly settlements averaging $1,300–$1,500+based on four completed operating days.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate, if required for the assigned vehicle and operation
- Ability to satisfy applicable screening, insurance, background, and customer-access requirements
- Ability to complete required vehicle inspections and maintain compliant driving records or logs
- Reliable smartphone and ability to communicate promptly
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Strong punctuality, reliability, and attention to detail
- Ability to safely load, unload, secure, lift, push, pull, or move delivery items as required
Preferred Experience
Experience in any of the following is preferred:
- Medical courier services
- Healthcare logistics
- Box truck delivery
- Time-sensitive deliveries
- Military installation deliveries
