The Machine Builder is responsible for the CNC mechanical assembly measurements and the assembly of main-assemblies, sub-assemblies and components, ensuring that the CNC meets established assembly build requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Layout of factory floor for CNC machine base and sub-assemblies.
- Ability to read, interpret and follow mechanical, hydraulic, lubrication, pneumatic and electrical schematics and drawings.
- Measurement of mounting surfaces for linear rails, ballscrews and linear/rotary scales utilizing precision measuring equipment (indictors, levels, lasers, cubes/squares, associated software).
- Installation of linear rails, ballscrews and linear/rotary scales to factory specifications.
- Measuring and installation of sub-assemblies (columns, machining units, pallet changer, tool changer, tool magazine)
- Perform geometrical measurements according to factory measuring protocols.
- Fitting, aligning, calibrating and adjusting parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.

Education and Experience:
- Advanced technician training or related apprenticeship or a minimum of 4 years related experience.
- Previous CNC machining and precision machine assembly build experience preferred.
- NC programming experience a plus

Physical Demands:
