Onsite/Travel-Based: Bethlehem, PA - Extensive Travel Required, US/Canada/Mexico

Our client, a global leader in equipment manufacturing for ceramics, carbide, and powder metallurgy production, seeks a Field Service Engineer to join their North American team, based out of Bethlehem, PA.   • Compensation: $30.00 - $40.00/hourly, based on experience

A Day in the Life of a Field Service Engineer

In this role, you'll travel to customer sites across the US, Mexico, Canada, and occasionally Europe to install, diagnose, and repair advanced electric press and part-handling systems. You'll be the go-to technical expert on the ground, ensuring equipment runs smoothly and customers get back up and running fast. Your work directly supports the reliability and performance of production systems used across automotive, electronics, medical, and traditional ceramics industries worldwide.

Responsibilities include:

  • Traveling extensively throughout the US, Mexico, and Canada, with occasional travel to Europe
  • Working directly with customers to identify and understand equipment issues
  • Diagnosing problems across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Performing repairs to restore equipment to full operational status
  • Monitoring equipment performance to confirm successful repairs
  • Installing and running off new equipment
  • Training customer personnel on equipment use and maintenance
  • Keeping work areas clean and safe
  • Documenting all services performed

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Willingness to travel extensively, including internationally, for days to weeks at a time
  • 3-5+ years of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic knowledge for on-site troubleshooting
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems/components and CNC equipment operation
  • Associate's degree in Mechatronics or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Valid driver's license
  • Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
  • Strong active listening and learning skills
