Job Description

Who Our Client Is
Our client is a life sciences organization focused on delivering high-quality solutions in a regulated environment. They value collaboration, data integrity, continuous improvement, and disciplined processes that support growth and operational excellence.

What Our Client Needs
Our client is seeking a Master Data Manager to own the quality, consistency, and governance of operational master data. This role will establish data standards, maintain critical master data domains across ERP and related systems, improve data quality, and ensure information is accurate, scalable, and audit-ready.

Who You Are
You are an experienced master data professional who combines strong analytical skills with a practical approach to governance. You can investigate complex data issues, establish clear standards, and influence teams across the organization. You are detail-oriented, comfortable managing competing priorities, and skilled at translating technical data requirements for non-technical stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

  • Own master data standards, data dictionaries, naming conventions, lifecycle policies, and governance processes across core operational data domains.
  • Govern master data covering organizational structures, products, customers, suppliers, inventory and batches, trade compliance, serialization, and pricing.
  • Serve as the escalation point for master data conflicts, duplicate records, and data quality issues.
  • Partner with IT on ERP configuration, data architecture, integrations, governance tools, system upgrades, and data migrations.
  • Maintain standardized, current, and audit-ready master data processes and documentation.
  • Design validation rules, field-level controls, and duplicate-check processes that prevent errors at the point of data creation.
  • Conduct routine data audits, investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions.
  • Define and report data quality KPIs, including completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and duplication rates.
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Commercial, Finance, Regulatory, Customer Care, Procurement, and other teams to improve data accuracy and discipline.
  • Support new product launches, market expansions, regulatory activities, and other business initiatives by ensuring required master data is complete and accurate.
  • Provide training and guidance on master data policies, entry standards, and change-request procedures.

Travel and supervisory responsibilities were not specified for this role.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Data Science, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in master data management, data governance, or ERP data administration within manufacturing, medical device, or life sciences.
  • Hands-on experience configuring and administering master data within a major ERP platform.
  • Hands-on experience with AI business use cases.
  • Experience owning multiple master data domains, such as product, customer, vendor, and pricing data.
  • Experience implementing data validation rules, error-proofing controls, and data quality KPI programs.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data reporting or business intelligence tools.
  • Ability to drive data discipline across teams without direct authority over data-entry personnel.
  • Experience with trade compliance, serialization, or regulatory data domains is preferred.
  • Experience working in a regulated quality environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with global identification standards and pharmaceutical or medical device serialization frameworks is preferred.
  • A master’s degree, MBA, or recognized data management or governance certification is a plus.
