Position Title: CNC Swiss Operator

Department: Manufacturing

Location: Erie PA

Reports To: Manufacturing Supervisor

Classification: Non-Exempt - Hourly

Shift: 7am to 3pm Monday-Friday

Position Summary:

The CNC Swiss Operator leads day-to-day CNC Swiss machining activities while performing advanced setup and operation duties. This role supports production schedules, department goals, employee training, process improvement, and communication with Manufacturing leadership. The Lead Operator serves as the primary setup resource for Swiss-turn machining and works closely with Engineering and the Manufacturing Supervisor to maintain safe, efficient, and high-quality production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strict observance and adherence to SSI plant and safety rules.
  • Work effectively with colleagues.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities of the CNC Swiss Operator position.
  • Perform setup and operation of all machines within the CNC Swiss group.
  • Oversee and support the daily performance of the CNC Swiss group.
  • Review and follow daily production schedules.
  • Work with Engineering to continuously improve tooling and machining processes.
  • Serve as the lead setup operator for Swiss-turn machining.
  • Review and understand department goals and help drive employees toward achievement of department goals.
  • Provide daily status communication to the Manufacturing Supervisor.
  • Actively assist in training operators and setting performance and development goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
