Local Hazmat Route Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting steel cylinders safely filled with industrial compressed gases efficiently within designated routes. This role requires a strong understanding of various types of cylinders and industrial compressed gases, which are taught during training, as well as the ability to load and unload the cylinders by hand and by forklift. The cylinders range in weight. The most common sizes range around 45 pounds. The cylinders are handled mainly by hand, sometimes with a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Navigate assigned routes efficiently while maintaining compliance with traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Load and unload freight using appropriate techniques by hand and with equipment such as forklifts.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and functionality.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries using handheld devices with data entry apps.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery status and any issues encountered on the road.
• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any customer inquiries or concerns professionally.

Experience

• Proven experience in truck driving or delivery driving is preferred.
• Knowledge of loading and unloading procedures for freight is essential.
• Previous experience with route driving will be beneficial for this role.
• A valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is required with a Hazmat endorsement.

CDL - Driver - $78,000.00 per year is the base salary (Base salary + commissions + bonuses + benefits)

Tech-Gas Solutions is a wholesale gas supplier who specializes in the HVAC, Refrigeration and Welding Gas industry. We are looking to expand and hire a delivery driver in the Atlanta GA market.

~~ Delivery Drivers:

* This exciting opportunity is a hands on, fast pace, multi stop, route truck delivery service similar to Coca-Cola or water delivery routes that swap empty tanks for full tanks.

* Deliver various full gas cylinders in a timely manner to customers in the metro Atlanta area.

* Our Route Trucks are NOT Semi trucks! No over the road routes/ home daily!

*We operate RAM 5500 flatbed trucks that tow 40-foot goose neck trailers. Truck and trailer are more than 26,000 lbs of Haz-Mat every day so our drivers are required to hold a Class A CDL with Haz-Mat endorsement.

* Be 21 years of age or older

* Be able to operate and safely drive company provided equipment

* Forklift experience or able to pass certification course quickly

* Speak, read and write in English

* Be able to lift and manipulate 10 lbs. - 75 lbs. of our products

* Undergo mandatory drug test, a medical examination and background check.

* 8 - 12-hour shifts Monday - Friday

* Class A CDL with HAZMAT
