Functional Responsibility:Responsible for leading and expanding the Purchasing team in our Winder facility through the efficient procurement of materials and services. The successful candidate shall exhibit sound judgment; leadership and specialized knowledge ensuring procurement decisions achieve best overall value for the corporation. Responsible for leading the Purchasing and Receiving teams to deliver their committed results.
Principal Duties:
- Work with the Leadership team to set goals and objectives for the Purchasing team.
- Recommend a sourcing strategy to meet customer needs, market conditions and maximize positive impact to the organization.
- Lead the Purchasing and Receiving teams to deliver results.
- Mentor the team to meet individual goals and objectives.
- Coordinate with Logistics Manager to control inbound freight.
- Develop and maintain business relationships with suppliers and business associates
- Execute quarterly supplier ratings
- Prepare, issue, receive and lead the analysis of formal RFPs. Ensure awards are in accordance with established evaluation criteria, best practice and within commercial law.
- Lead procurement related negotiations with existing and new vendors.
- Participate in training opportunities as per annual development plans
- Remain conversant regarding relevant commodities, new technology, government regulations, policies and procedures related to procurement.

Qualifications:
- Degree from a recognized university plus a minimum of 5 years directly related experience
OR
- Completion of CPSM Designation and 5 years directly related experience.
- Requires minimum of 5 years leadership experience
- Advanced understanding of Corporate Purchasing procedures
- Advanced understanding of corporate ERP applications
- Demonstrated high level of initiative and motivation to simultaneously handle complex procurement assignments in a team environment
- Provide procurement expertise, identify and execute opportunities for improvement and resolve procurement issues in a team environment
- Advanced understanding of the various functions and responsibilities of the various departments and divisions throughout the corporation.
- Proficient knowledge of the various material and services used throughout the corporation
- High ethical standards.
- Self-starter who is a creative out of the box thinker.
- Possess high sense of urgency and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
