Position Overview:

The individual will direct and oversee the organization’s off-shift manufacturing operations, including safety, quality, production, maintenance, and warehouse activities. This person will serve as the coordination point and emergency contact for key topics relating to off-shift manufacturing.

This position is an integral member of the management team and requires the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. A high degree of creativity, leadership, and latitude is expected.

The individual will also support department leaders with communication, training, performance appraisal, and reward/disciplinary activities as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follow all Company safety policies and procedures.
• Lead all personnel assigned to off-shift operations, including production, quality, maintenance, and warehouse.
• Serve as the coordination point for key topics relating to off-shift manufacturing.
• Review daily staffing and ensure staffing efficiency across business areas.
• Assess operational performance and profitability and direct activities to improve efficiency and support continuous improvement.
• Ensure performance metrics and goals are achieved.
• Create and implement high-performance work teams to drive and support manufacturing philosophies, including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, best practices, and Kaizen.
• Maintain established GMP, SQF, HACCP, and housekeeping standards within the operations areas.
• Support the training of all operations personnel.
• Conduct operations meetings in accordance with organizational standards.
• Communicate appropriate information to applicable areas.
  

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Indirectly responsible for all employees working on the off shift.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position.

Education and Experience

• Prior food manufacturing experience is required, with 6+ years of related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field, with a minimum of 6+ years of related Operations leadership experience.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, team building, Six Sigma, and related manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures.
