Job Description

The Quality Control (QC) Inspector ensures that fabricated metal parts and machined components adhere to strict engineering specifications, blueprints, and quality standards. They perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring tools, documentation, and quarantining non-conforming items to ensure only high-quality products are delivered to customers.

Job Requirements:

  • Inspection Activities: Perform incoming raw material inspection, in-process, and final inspection of machined and fabricated parts.
  • Measurement and Testing: Utilize precision instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges to verify dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Non-Conformance Handling: Identify, tag, and quarantine defective parts or materials, ensuring they do not advance in production or ship.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed, accurate records of inspection results, including creating inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and Certificates of Conformance (COC).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience / Education:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: Previous experience as a Quality Control Inspector in a sheet metal fabrication and machining shop is required. Experience in fabrication and machining is a plus
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and utilizing advanced measuring instruments.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent visual inspection abilities to identify defects like cracks, pits, or welding errors.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting defects and working with teams.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and bend, and regularly wear safety PPE properly, such as respirators, hearing and eye protection, and safety footwear.
  • Required to be standing for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
  • May require lifting, standing, and movement throughout the facility
  • Monday–Friday schedule, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Overtime as required by workload and customer demand
