Location: Austin, MN
Duration: 8 Weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Shift: Day Shift, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Job Description

The Medical Assistant will support both front-office and back-office operations in a healthcare setting. Responsibilities include patient intake, clinical support, scheduling, phlebotomy, and assisting with daily clinic operations. The successful candidate will maintain a collaborative relationship with center staff and contribute to a patient-focused environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and provide a welcoming experience.
  • Room patients and prepare them for examinations.
  • Obtain and document patient vital signs.
  • Perform phlebotomy and venipuncture procedures.
  • Administer vaccines as directed by clinical staff.
  • Perform EKGs and point-of-care (POC) testing.
  • Schedule appointments and assist with patient coordination.
  • Answer phones and provide front-office support.
  • Maintain accurate patient information and documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Provide additional clinical and administrative support as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare center staff.
  • Support health education and community outreach initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience, excluding externship experience.
  • Medical Assistant certification strongly preferred.
  • Required experience with phlebotomy/venipuncture.
  • Required Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in both front-office and back-office environments.
  • BLS or CPR certification required.
