Job description

Altelix designs and manufactures weatherproof electrical enclosures and accompanying

mechanical and electrical assemblies. We are currently looking for a Manufacturing

Engineer to join our team in Boca Raton. As a Manufacturing Engineer at Altelix, you will

play a key role in developing, improving, and implementing manufacturing processes for

new and existing products. This is a hands-on position that works closely with Engineering

and Production to improve product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and production

throughput. The Manufacturing Engineer will also help Altelix develop and implement

manufacturing processes, documentation, and quality controls in preparation for pursuing

ISO 9001:2015 certification.

Duties include:

Develop, improve, and implement manufacturing and assembly processes for new and

existing products.

Work directly with Production to identify and solve manufacturing, assembly, quality, and

efficiency problems.

Support the transition of new products from Engineering into production, including process

development, pilot builds, tooling, and work instructions.

Design and develop jigs, fixtures, templates, tooling, and other production aids.

Analyze production processes to reduce labor, material waste, production time, rework,

and manufacturing costs.

Assist Engineering with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).

Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process

specifications, inspection procedures, and testing procedures.

Help develop and implement an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system, including

production procedures, process controls, records, internal audits, and corrective actions.

Use CAD and other engineering tools to develop process improvements, tooling, fixtures,

and manufacturing solutions.

Provide technical support to Production and work with Engineering, Quality, and suppliers

to resolve manufacturing issues and implement continuous improvements.

Applicants must possess the following qualifications to be considered for the

position:

• BSME, BSEE, or related Engineering Degree, or an Associates Degree in Engineering

or a related technical field with equivalent work experience.

• Experience in manufacturing engineering, process improvement, or a similar handson manufacturing role.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand engineering drawings,

mechanical assemblies, and manufacturing processes.

• Experience identifying manufacturing problems and developing practical solutions

to improve quality, efficiency, and cost.

• Experience with SolidWorks; experience designing fixtures, tooling, or other

production aids is a major plus.

• Experience with mechanical assembly, fabrication, machining, or other

manufacturing processes.

• Proficiency in creating clear and comprehensive technical documentation and work

procedures.

• Knowledge or experience with ISO 9001:2015, quality systems, process controls,

internal audits, or corrective actions is a major plus.

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively

with Engineering and Production personnel.

• Must be comfortable working hands-on in a manufacturing environment and

spending significant time on the production floor.

• Salary commensurate with experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000-$85,000/year
