Machine Operator

This role involves setting up and operating hydraulic press equipment, CNC machines, lathes, and grinders to forge or package railroad anchors and related components. You ensure products meet customer specifications by monitoring machine performance, adjusting settings, and performing routine maintenance. You read and interpret blueprints or job orders to determine required tooling and product specifications, while maintaining a clean, safe work area in a non-temperature-controlled environment.

• Set up and operate hydraulic press equipment, CNC machines, lathes, and grinders to forge or package railroad anchors and other components.
• Monitor machine operations continuously to detect workpiece defects and make adjustments to improve performance and meet customer specifications.
• Perform routine and minor maintenance on machinery to keep equipment in good working order.
• Troubleshoot machine issues to anticipate, identify, and correct potential quality problems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and specifications to determine product requirements and necessary tooling.
• Use measuring tools, such as tape measures, to verify dimensions and ensure products meet required tolerances.
• Follow all prescribed safety procedures and guidelines while working with heavy machinery.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including regular housekeeping tasks.
• Work effectively in a production environment that may involve general labor, assembly tasks, and handling of heavy materials.
• Adapt to varying temperature conditions and dusty, dirty environments while performing physically strenuous tasks, including heavy lifting.

• Ability to set up and operate hydraulic presses, CNC machines, lathes, or grinders in a production environment.
• Experience or aptitude in machine operation and general production work.
• Capability to perform basic assembly and general labor tasks as part of the manufacturing process.
• Proficiency in using a tape measure and other basic measuring tools to verify product dimensions.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints or job orders to understand product specifications and tooling requirements.
• Basic mechanical aptitude to perform routine and minor maintenance on machinery.
• Troubleshooting skills to identify and correct machine and quality issues.
• Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a clean work area.
• Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in a strenuous, fast-paced environment.

• CNC machine experience is a plus, but no prior machine operating experience is required; training is provided.
• Comfort working in environments that can be hot or cold depending on the season.
• Willingness to work in areas that are dirty and dusty at all times.
• Ability to remain focused and productive while performing repetitive tasks in a production setting.

The role is based in a production facility that uses hydraulic presses, CNC machines, lathes, grinders, and other industrial equipment to manufacture railroad anchors and related components. The environment is non-temperature-controlled, so conditions can be hot or cold depending on the season. The workspace is typically dirty and dusty, and tasks can be physically demanding, involving heavy lifting and strenuous machine operation. Team members work on their feet for extended periods and perform general labor, assembly, and housekeeping duties to keep the area safe and organized, following all established safety procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Taylor Mill, KY.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.50/hr.
