Electrical Engineer

Melbourne, FL | Full-Time | Onsite | 9/80 Schedule

Join an engineering team developing advanced embedded and communication systems for aerospace, defense, and mission-critical applications.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will lead the design, development, testing, and integration of complex hardware systems, including high-speed digital circuit boards, mixed-signal electronics, FPGA-based designs, and embedded hardware platforms. This role offers significant technical ownership while providing opportunities to mentor junior engineers and influence future product development.

The ideal candidate enjoys solving challenging hardware problems, working closely with software and FPGA teams, and seeing designs progress from concept through production.

What You'll Do
  • Design and develop complex printed circuit boards (PCBs) and hardware systems
  • Lead high-speed digital circuit design and hardware architecture efforts
  • Perform schematic capture, PCB layout guidance, component selection, and design reviews
  • Collaborate with software, FPGA, systems, and test engineers throughout development
  • Support hardware bring-up, integration, debugging, and verification activities
  • Analyze and resolve performance, signal integrity, power, and reliability issues
  • Utilize simulation and modeling tools to validate designs before production
  • Develop engineering documentation, test procedures, and design artifacts
  • Ensure designs comply with aerospace, defense, and industry standards
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical leadership initiatives
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
  • 10+ years of electrical or hardware design experience
  • Strong PCB design experience
  • Experience designing high-speed digital circuits and electronic systems
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer, Cadence, or similar ECAD tools
  • Strong understanding of digital and analog circuit design
  • Experience supporting hardware integration, troubleshooting, and testing
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • FPGA hardware design experience, particularly Xilinx platforms
  • Experience supporting DSP (Digital Signal Processing) systems
  • Familiarity with MATLAB and Simulink
  • Experience with embedded processors and microcontroller-based systems
  • Experience designing communication interfaces such as SPI and I²C
  • Signal integrity, power integrity, or simulation experience
  • Aerospace, defense, or military electronics experience
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Melbourne, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $80.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
