The position will also connect Workday with enterprise identity tools to improve provisioning, deprovisioning, authentication, access reviews, compliance reporting, and audit readiness.

Beyond Workday, this engineer will develop automated security solutions, integrate security technologies across cloud and on-premises environments, address vulnerabilities, support application security, respond to incidents, and strengthen security governance. The ideal candidate combines deep Workday Security expertise with a broad understanding of identity and security operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and maintain the organization’s Workday security architecture
  • Administer security groups, domain permissions, business-process policies, role-based access, and segregation-of-duties controls
  • Connect Workday with identity governance, access management, privileged access, SSO, and automated provisioning platforms
  • Improve identity-lifecycle processes, including account creation, access changes, termination workflows, certifications, and compliance reporting
  • Configure and support authentication and authorization standards such as SAML and OAuth
  • Develop automated solutions supporting identity management, vulnerability management, application security, incident response, threat intelligence, and technology governance
  • Integrate security technologies with business applications across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments
  • Create and maintain internal security tools, utilities, workflows, and incident-response playbooks
  • Assess potential uses for artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics within security monitoring and decision-making
  • Help protect enterprise applications, identities, third-party integrations, vendors, service providers, and sensitive information
  • Monitor and address security vulnerabilities, access risks, control failures, and policy violations
  • Investigate security events, participate in threat hunting, and escalate unresolved risks through established channels
  • Promote secure software-development practices and support application scanning and testing before release
  • Assist with governance and compliance obligations using established cybersecurity frameworks
  • Advise project teams and mentor colleagues on security principles, controls, and risk reduction

Qualifications:

  • Advanced, hands-on experience administering and architecting Workday Security
  • Strong knowledge of Workday security groups, domain policies, business-process security, role-based permissions, and segregation-of-duties controls
  • Experience integrating Workday with IAM, IGA, PAM, SSO, or provisioning technologies
  • Practical knowledge of SAML, OAuth, authentication, and authorization concepts
  • Experience supporting Workday audits, access certifications, compliance reporting, governance, and identity-lifecycle management
  • Background implementing security controls across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments
  • Experience building automated security processes, integrations, tools, or utilities
  • Understanding of identity security, vulnerability management, application security, incident response, and threat intelligence
  • Ability to evaluate risk and communicate technical security concerns to business and technology stakeholders
  • Experience collaborating across infrastructure, application development, project, compliance, and business teams
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and mentoring abilities
  • Familiarity with NIST, HITRUST, or comparable security and compliance frameworks
  • Ability to work onsite in Oklahoma City three days per week
