Warehouse Associate

Location: Hartford, CT

Pay Rate: $17.00/hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM

Environment: Cooler section maintained at approximately 45–55°ree;F

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable Quality Control & Packing Associate to inspect and grade products for quality and prepare them for shipment. This position involves sorting products, repacking cases into smaller quantities, assembling and labeling boxes, and maintaining a clean and sanitary work area.

This is an entry-level opportunity, and no previous experience is required. The ideal candidate is reliable, able to work independently, and comfortable working in a cooler environment.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect and grade products according to established quality standards.
  • Repack cases into smaller increments for shipment.
  • Assemble boxes and prepare packages for shipping.
  • Apply labels and organize finished packages.
  • Stack and stock packages safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all sanitation, safety, and food-handling procedures.
  • Adhere to Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards and company procedures.
  • Maintain an acceptable level of productivity and accuracy.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and managers.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
  • Previous experience is not required; training is provided.
  • Ability to work independently and stay productive.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality products.
  • Dependable and willing to stay until assigned work is completed.
Work Environment & Requirements
  • Work is performed in a cooler environment maintained at approximately** **45–55°ree;F.
  • Candidates must have steel-toe or composite-toe boots that cover the ankle on their first day.
  • Must be able to follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Monday–Friday schedule, with candidates expected to remain on-site if additional work still needs to be completed.
Decision-Making

The primary independent decision-making responsibility is identifying products that meet quality standards and determining how they should be graded and repacked. Work is routinely reviewed by the supervisor and manager.

You should be proficient in:

  • Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA)
  • Warehouse Experience
