SUMMARY: The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing inspections throughout the manufacturing process, including receiving, in-process, final, and product release, to ensure devices meet quality and regulatory requirements. The role collaborates closely with Quality Engineers to keep inspection processes clear and accurate, and supports Production and Packaging as needed. The Quality Inspector (2nd Shift) is scheduled Monday - Thursday, 3PM-1AM.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (includes the following but other duties may be assigned)
- Perform and document inspections per Quality Inspection plans
- Inspect to AQL/C=0 sampling plans
- Perform 1st article layouts, when required
- Perform roving inspections and provide trending data for quality metrics
- Collaborate with Quality Engineers to ensure processes are clear and accurate
- Assist with quality training for personnel and new hires
MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with calibration, gage R&R, capability studies, Minitab analysis
- Provide quality training for personnel and new hires
- Complete tasks/projects assigned by a Quality Engineer (data entry, metrics, customer returns)
- Support Production and Packaging Engineers as needed
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma, or equivalent, required
- 1-2 years' experience with inspection of medical devices, preferred
- Basic computer skills
- Good organization skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Experience using gauging, such as mics, calipers, comparators, height and thread gauges, vision systems
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Certified Quality Inspector (CQT-ASQ), preferred
- Proficient with GD&T and blueprint reading, preferred
