SMSI Group is seeking a skilled and motivated Sheet Metal Shop Foreman to lead daily operations at our Springfield, MO facility. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing shop production, coordinating fabrication workflows, and driving quality and efficiency across all sheet metal projects.

Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.

Compensation:

$40 - $41 hourly


Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee day-to-day operations within the sheet metal shop

  • Supervise fabrication processes, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and quality workmanship

  • Operate and manage production utilizing CNC Laser, CNC Plasma, and CNC Waterjet equipment

  • Coordinate HVAC ductwork fabrication from drawings to finished product

  • Review and assist with HVAC ductwork estimating and material planning

  • Ensure production schedules and deadlines are consistently met

  • Enforce company safety standards and maintain a clean, organized shop environment

  • Train, mentor, and support shop personnel to maximize productivity and skill development

  • Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure alignment on project needs

  • This position is safety-sensitive


Qualifications:
  • Proven experience operating and overseeing CNC Laser, CNC Plasma, and CNC Waterjet equipment
  • Strong background in HVAC sheet metal and ductwork fabrication
  • Experience preparing or reviewing HVAC ductwork estimates
  • OSHA 10 Certification (required)
  • Valid Class E Driver’s License (required)
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in a shop or production environment
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced setting
