JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position will support manufacturing in a regulated environment (ASME, nuclear, aerospace), producing code-compliant welds on critical and pressure-containing components.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
· Perform GMAW (MIG) welding on carbon steel, stainless, and alloys
· Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, WPS, PQRs, and travelers and troubleshoot welding parameters
· Execute multi-pass, structural, and pressure boundary welds
· Ensure compliance with ASME Section IX and customer specs
· Perform inspections and correct defects
· Maintain traceability and documentation
· Support root cause analysis and corrective actions
· Follow safety and PPE requirements
Quality & Compliance Expectations
· Experience with ASME Section IX welding, including pressure vessels
· Ability to follow WPS/PQR requirements
· Understanding of pressure boundary weld quality
· Exposure to inspection methods (VT, UT, RT, PT, MT)
· High first-pass yield and minimal rework
· Maintain precision, traceability, and consistency
QUALIFICATIONS
· 5–7+ years GMAW welding experience
· ASME Section IX welding experience
· Ability to read blueprints and WPS/PQR documentation
· Experience with multi-pass and pressure welds
· Strong metallurgy and distortion control knowledge
· Experience with code welding and pressure weldments
· Experience in regulated environments
· FCAW / GTAW experience
· Experience with thick materials or pressure vessels
· Exposure to audits and compliance manufacturing

Mobility in a shop floor environment Exposure to heat, fumes, noise. Handling heavy materials
