Job Description
We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join a team in Rutledge, Georgia on a Long-term Contract basis. This position will support core accounting operations in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on maintaining accurate financial records and helping day-to-day processes run smoothly. The ideal candidate brings strong organization, careful attention to detail, and the ability to manage shifting priorities while working closely with accounting leadership.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and record journal entries to keep the general ledger accurate and up to date.
• Manage accounts receivable activities, including tracking incoming payments and resolving routine billing issues.
• Oversee accounts payable processing to ensure invoices are reviewed, coded, and paid in a timely manner.
• Perform account reconciliations regularly and investigate discrepancies to support reliable financial reporting.
• Administer sales and use tax tasks, including maintaining records and assisting with related filings.
• Help maintain job books and support job costing documentation for ongoing operational and financial tracking.
• Assist with daily accounting activities under the direction of the Contract Controller to support department goals.
• Respond to special projects, reporting needs, and administrative assignments as business demands change.• Experience in staff accounting with hands-on responsibility for general ledger activity and journal entries.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation processes.
• Familiarity with sales and use tax responsibilities in a business setting.
• Strong organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt quickly, manage multiple priorities, and support a dynamic work environment.
• Comfort working in a manufacturing or plant-based setting.
• Experience with job costing or manufacturing accounting is preferred.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online.
