SUMMARY:
The Corporate Quality & Product Manager leads company-wide quality control and product development initiatives for industrial sand and aggregate products. This role serves as a key technical liaison for sales teams, clients, external laboratories, and subsidiary partnersdriving product customization, technical support, and data-driven quality consistency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Quality Management & Compliance
Standardize QA/QC policies, procedures, and documentation across all facilities and subsidiaries.
Oversee data capturing, trend analysis, and specification reviews using the Stonemont quality database.
Ensure product compliance and certifications with relevant regulatory agencies and customer specifications.
Manage the corporate incident system, conducting root cause analyses and implementing corrective actions.
Provide guidance and functional oversight to plant QC managers and technicians.
Product Development & Technical Support
Develop custom aggregate/sand mixes, blended products, and prototype formulations to meet client specifications.
Maintain up-to-date Technical Data Sheets (TDS), certificates of analysis (COAs), and analytical records.
Partner with suppliers (peat moss, dyes, additives) and evaluate marketplace innovations.
Support prototype formulation development and laboratory testing activities.
Sales Enablement & Customer Relations
Equip the sales team with technical sales tools, product training, and material expertise.
Deliver technical presentations, webinars, and seminars for clients, trade shows, and industry events.
Conduct customer site visits and maintain detailed activity records in the CRM system.
Cultivate long-term technical relationships with key industry associations, partners, and clients.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in a scientific field with 6+ years of progressive QA/QC and lab testing experience in industrial minerals, sand, aggregates, cement, or building materials.
Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of raw material deposit chemistry, analytical testing methods, quality control standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Software Skills: Proficiency with QC software (Stonemont), MS Office Suite, and CRM systems.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills across technical, sales, and executive audiences.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Work Setting: Split between office, laboratory, and active mining/manufacturing facilities and customer job sites.
Travel: Requires up to 25% travel to remote plant facilities and customer locations.
Physical Requirements: Ability to climb stairs/elevated platforms, work in varying temperature environments, and lift product samples (up to 100 lbs occasionally).
Safety Compliance: Regular use of PPE (hard hat, eye/hearing protection, respirator, safety boots) required on site.
