Entry-Level Field Technician (Operations & Maintenance)

About the Role

We are seeking motivated Entry-Level Field Technicians to join our Operations & Maintenance team. In this role, you will work on impactful environmental projects designed to reduce methane emissions at agricultural facilities and landfills, repurpose contaminated properties, produce alternative energy, and sequester carbon.

Pay Range: $25.00 – $32.00 / hour

Job Type: Full-Time / Entry-Level

Location: Southern California (Projects span from Los Angeles to San Diego, with a heavy concentration in Orange County and the Riverside area).

Key Responsibilities

  • System Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance, adjustments, and repairs on various environmental control system components (including the removal and servicing of landfill liquid pumps).
  • Data Collection: Use specialized field instruments to measure environmental system data, perform instrument calibrations, and assist with basic data interpretation.
  • Documentation: Conduct thorough field observations and maintain accurate daily logs/field notes to support client reporting and team communication.
  • Tools & Equipment: Safely operate hand tools, electric power tools (drills, saws, etc.), and manlifts.

Position Requirements & Physical Demands

To perform this job successfully, candidates must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and meeting the following physical requirements:

  • Walk long distances over even and uneven terrain (road, pavement, gravel).
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Perform hand excavation and digging using shovels and picks.
  • Carry and climb ladders, and work comfortably from manlifts.
  • Drive and safely operate a company pickup truck.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Field experience preferred (experience in Water Treatment, Soil Vapor Extraction, Remediation, Air Monitoring, or General Mechanical Maintenance is highly desirable).
  • Certifications: 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120) preferred.
  • License: Valid driver’s license in good standing (Required).
  • Tech Skills: Basic knowledge of smartphones, tablets, and Microsoft Office Programs (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Screening: Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
