Do you enjoy helping people and providing great customer service? ACE Hardware is looking for a friendly, dependable Cashier to join our team and help create the welcoming experience our customers have come to expect from their local ACE.

At ACE Hardware, we're more than just a place to check out. We're a neighborhood hardware store where customers come for the products they need, but also for helpful service, friendly faces, and people who are willing to lend a hand. As a Cashier, you'll play an important role in making sure every customer leaves with a positive experience.

We are especially looking for candidates who are available to work weekday evenings and weekends.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking for part-time hours that work well around school, another job, or daytime commitments. Regular weekend availability and weekday evening availability are a priority for this position.

• Greet every customer with a friendly, helpful attitude.
• Operate the cash register and accurately process sales, payments, returns, and exchanges.
• Provide a fast, friendly, and positive checkout experience.
• Answer basic customer questions and direct customers to the right ACE Hardware team member when additional assistance is needed.
• Maintain an accurate cash drawer and follow established cash-handling procedures.
• Bag and package merchandise and assist customers with their purchases.
• Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and well stocked.
• Assist with front-end tasks and store recovery throughout the store.
• Help keep the store looking clean, organized, and ready for customers.
• Follow ACE Hardware and company policies and procedures related to customer service, safety, security, and cash handling.
• Work as part of a team and help wherever needed.

• Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred, but not required.
• Friendly, positive attitude and a genuine desire to help people.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Basic math and cash-handling abilities.
• Dependable, responsible, and team-oriented.
• Willingness to learn about hardware, lawn & garden, home improvement products, and the services we offer.
• Ability to stay positive and helpful in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Strong availability for weekday evenings and weekends.

Weekend and weekday evening availability is a priority for this position.

Candidates should be available to work weekday evening shifts and regularly scheduled weekend shifts. Nights, weekends, and holidays may be required based on store needs.

This position works primarily in an ACE Hardware retail store environment and may involve exposure to varying temperatures, dust, noise, and other conditions associated with hardware, lawn & garden, and home improvement merchandise.

• Ability to bend, stoop, walk, and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to routinely lift and move merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to assist customers with merchandise and other tasks throughout the store.
