Description

  • The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for driving continuous improvement within the fabrication function (lasers, brake presses, saws, etc.) and establishing and maintaining safe and efficient production processes, with the objective of reducing cost of manufacturing while improving quality.
  • Activities include leading projects to analyze engineering designs, procurement procedures, manufacturing methods, staffing requirements and machine utilization, material routing and handling methods, tool design and application, etc., acting as project leader/liaison and coordinating activities with manufacturing production departments, production/inventory control and design engineering departments, developing manufacturing processes/procedures/work instructions and routings and developing economic justification for capital equipment.
  • A bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical, or industrial engineering and/or five years engineering experience in a heavy industrial environment is preferred.
  • Technical competency in steel fabrication, welding, machining, or paint finishing and thorough knowledge of fabrication, manufacturing and quality processes is also required. 3-D CAD knowledge is required, Pro-E/Creo is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or 5+ years of relevant engineering experience in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of steel fabrication, welding, machining, or paint finishing.
  • Understanding of fabrication, manufacturing, and quality processes.
  • 3D CAD experience required; Pro-E/Creo preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement skills.


Job Summary

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive continuous improvement and develop safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing processes within the fabrication function, including lasers, brake presses, saws, and related equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Improve fabrication processes, productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Analyze manufacturing methods, machine utilization, material flow, tooling, and staffing requirements.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing processes, routings, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Lead improvement projects and coordinate with Production, Inventory Control, and Engineering teams.
  • Support capital equipment evaluation and develop economic justifications.
  • Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, and overall manufacturing efficiency.
