We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager, Network Infrastructure to oversee the performance, reliability, and evolution of campus-wide network services in Fairfield, Connecticut. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with operational oversight, supporting wired, wireless, and data center connectivity across multiple environments. The ideal candidate brings strong Cisco-based networking expertise, a proactive approach to uptime and security, and the ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and project stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
• Direct the planning, implementation, and ongoing administration of network services across campus locations, ensuring dependable connectivity for both wired and wireless environments.
• Evaluate, procure, and deploy networking hardware, tools, and supporting materials needed to maintain and expand infrastructure operations.
• Oversee resilient internet and organizational network connections, with a focus on high availability, rapid incident response, and continuous service performance.
• Supervise network troubleshooting efforts by guiding staff, contractors, and colleagues through diagnosis and resolution of infrastructure issues.
• Track bandwidth consumption, device activity, and system behavior to identify risks early and reduce service disruptions or misuse.
• Establish and maintain monitoring routines and preventive checks for switches, transmission systems, power components, environmental controls, generators, and related equipment.
• Create and update physical and logical network documentation, including detailed topology maps and infrastructure standards for data centers and network closets.
• Lead vendor and contractor coordination for active and passive network components while ensuring installation practices align with established technical standards.
• Partner with construction and renovation teams to define network hardware, cabling, and wireless requirements and to uphold infrastructure standards throughout project delivery.• Demonstrated hands-on experience managing enterprise network environments, including routing, switching, and data center infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking fundamentals, including subnetting, DNS, DHCP, QoS, VLANs, and VPN technologies.
• Proven expertise designing, deploying, and supporting Cisco routers, switches, and wireless access points in complex environments.
• Experience working with Cisco platforms and operating environments, including NX-OS, along with the ability to troubleshoot both hardware and software issues.
• Solid understanding of core, distribution, and access layer network architecture and current routing protocols such as BGP.
• Ability to lead projects effectively, prioritize competing demands, and communicate with professionalism across technical and non-technical groups.
• Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and respond quickly to critical network incidents.
• Additional experience with Palo Alto firewalls, Active Directory, Azure, AWS, or relevant Microsoft and Cisco certifications is considered advantageous.
