CNC Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Southeastern Massachusetts

Salary: $100,000–$120,000 DOE

Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site

We are seeking an experienced CNC Manufacturing Engineer to support and optimize advanced manufacturing operations within a precision CNC machining environment. This position will focus heavily on CNC process development, automation, new part introduction, process improvement, and production scaling.

The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on knowledge of CNC machining and manufacturing engineering and is comfortable working directly with production, engineering, and quality teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, optimize, and support CNC machining processes for precision manufactured components.
  • Support advanced multi-axis CNC machining, tooling, fixturing, and process development.
  • Lead the transfer and introduction of new parts into production.
  • Partner with R&D and engineering teams on DFM/DFA, PFMEA, and new product introduction.
  • Develop and improve machining strategies to increase throughput, quality, and repeatability.
  • Support automation initiatives, equipment implementation, and manufacturing technology upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot machining and manufacturing issues and lead root-cause/corrective action efforts.
  • Develop tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing solutions utilizing 3D CAD/SolidWorks.
  • Lead process validation, first article, and capability analysis activities.
  • Create and maintain work instructions, control plans, SOPs, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies to reduce waste, cycle time, and production costs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Quality, R&D, and Operations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 8+ years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience preferred.
  • Strong experience within a CNC machining / precision manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of advanced CNC machining processes and CAD/CAM technologies.
  • Experience with tooling, fixturing, process development, and manufacturing optimization.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
  • Experience with DFM/DFA, PFMEA, process validation, and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience supporting automation or advanced manufacturing technology projects strongly preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma knowledge preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, project management, and cross-functional communication skills.
Compensation

$100,000–$120,000 annually, depending on experience.
