An exciting opportunity awaits an Electronics Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of electronic products in our innovative consumer product portfolio. You will play a pivotal role in developing PCB assemblies, integrating embedded electronics, troubleshooting electrical systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring new products from concept through production. Responsibilities
  • Design and develop printed circuit boards (PCBs) for new and existing products using industry-standard CAD tools.
  • Create electrical schematics, PCB layouts, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation.
  • Perform component selection and evaluate electronic components based on performance, cost, and availability.
  • Support embedded hardware development involving microcontrollers, sensors, wireless communication modules, power management circuits, and battery-powered systems.
  • Conduct circuit simulation, analysis, and design verification testing.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electronic hardware issues discovered during prototype, validation, or production phases.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers, firmware developers, manufacturing teams, and suppliers throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Develop and execute test procedures for prototype and production hardware.
  • Support design for manufacturability (DFM), design for testability (DFT), and product reliability initiatives.
  • Investigate product failures and implement corrective actions to improve quality and performance.
  • Manage PCB fabrication and contract manufacturing vendors during prototype and production builds.
  • Maintain engineering documentation including schematics, BOMs, ECOs, and technical reports.
  • Support regulatory compliance testing and product certification activities when required.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience designing electronic hardware and PCB-based systems.
  • Experience with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, Eagle, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles.
  • Experience designing multi-layer PCBs and working through prototype-to-production transitions.
  • Knowledge of microcontrollers, embedded electronics, sensors, communication protocols, and power electronics.
  • Ability to read and create electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Experience troubleshooting electronic circuits using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and other laboratory equipment.
  • Familiarity with engineering change processes, BOM management, and manufacturing support activities.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work within a collaborative product development team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, RF, or wireless communication technologies.
  • Familiarity with embedded firmware development and coding languages such as C/C++.
  • Experience with battery-powered products and power management systems.
  • Knowledge of EMC/EMI, UL, FCC, and CE compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting contract manufacturers and electronics production environments.
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.
  • Previous experience in consumer products, sporting goods, wearable technology, or connected devices.
  • 10+ years of PCB design experience preferred, although candidates with relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Work Environment

This is a contract position where you will be the sole electronics engineer initially. You will eventually have support from a full-time electronics engineer once hired. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment, utilizing advanced hardware and test equipment to innovate and improve electronic products.

This is a Contract position based out of Fort Wayne, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
