Project Engineer - Civil/Earthworks

Frederick, MD

$90,000-$140,000

A leading heavy civil contractor is seeking a Project Engineer to support projects in the Alexandria, VA area. This role is ideal for someone with experience in site development and concrete construction, looking to grow within a strong project team.



Key Responsibilities

  • Support project management and field teams on daily operations
  • Assist with submittals, RFIs, scheduling, and project documentation
  • Track quantities, costs, and project progress
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and field crews
  • Review plans, specifications, and technical documents
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards


Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a Project Engineer or similar role
  • Experience in site development (earthwork, utilities, stormwater)
  • Strong knowledge of concrete, including large pours and formwork
  • Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and specifications
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Construction-related degree preferred
