Job Description

Job Description
Day in the life Cross Plains, WI

Picture starting your shift by loading a new program on a 3–4 axis VMC, confirming tool offsets, and dialing in speeds and feeds for a thin-gauge plastic job. You verify blueprints and GD&T callouts, run a first-article, and fine-tune to hit both tolerance and surface finish requirements. Midday, you pivot to a 2–4 axis Mazak lathe, troubleshoot a minor alarm, perform quick maintenance, and keep production flowing. Before clocking out, you transfer files, document quality checks, and hand off a clean setup for the next run.

We have multiple immediate openings for CNC professionals who can set up, operate, and support basic programming in a fast-paced shop.

What you’ll do
  • Set up, operate, and maintain CNC mills (3–4 axis VMC) and CNC lathes (2–4 axis) with Fanuc and Mazatrol controls.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and geometric tolerances; execute first-piece inspections and in-process checks.
  • Calculate feeds/speeds and perform metric/imperial conversions using solid shop math.
  • Hold tight tolerances and meet specified surface finish requirements across a variety of materials, including thin-gauge work (0.007"–.120").
  • Troubleshoot minor mechanical and control issues; perform routine maintenance to maximize uptime.
  • Transfer programs/files and leverage basic computer skills to support efficient workflows.
