What You’ll Do- Own the Streaming Backend: Encoding, adaptive bitrate ladders, dynamic HLS manifest delivery, and more.

- Radiate Your Domain: Clarify designs and plans for others to maximize collaboration opportunities. Radiate critical info for external teams and other business decisions.
- Execute End-to-End: Leverage ai, testing, data, customer feedback, and intuition to make confidence changes that impact stakeholders across all levels of the tech
Requirements:
What You’ll Need
- 6+ years experience writing high-performance reusable code.
- Experience in leveraging code agents and ai models to fast-track outcomes.
- Experience with VOD streaming applications (HLS, Encoding, DRM) is preferred, but not required.
- Expert level knowledge within our chosen tech-stack:
- Elixir/Phoenix
- GraphQL/REST/Protobuf/HTTPs
- RabbitMQ
- Github Actions/Docker/Kubernetes
- S3/Postgres/Redis
- Datadog
- Expertise with DevOps principles (CI/CD, Flow optimization, collaboration, ownership, ect.)
- Passion for careful design & architectural planning that leads to a codebase that is future-prepped and maintainable.
- Experience designing and developing scalable backend systems
- Proactivity working in a dynamic environment with a high variety of users and ever-evolving requirements.
Work environment - When in the main office, expect a comfortable, air-conditioned work environment. Team members are issued their own desks, but the office is an open, shared space and can be fast-paced and occasionally noisy.
Physical demands - Will need to be able to sit or stand at a desk for extended periods of time.
Position type and expected hours of work - Regular full-time, 40 hours per week.
Travel required - No out of state travel anticipated at this time.
Required education and experience
- 6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
- 4+ years of experience as a Sr. Software Engineer or equivalent
Preferred education and experience
- Familiarity with Angel, the Angel Guild, and our body of work (films, series, and other projects).
Work authorization - Must be authorized to work in the United States.
