Our client is a high-growth, startup-style team within a large financial organization. Backed by strong strategic investment, this team is focused on modernizing platforms and building innovative, cloud-native solutions that support millions of customers seeking income protection and insurance products. We are seeking a Principal Full Stack Engineer to lead design and development of scalable applications with a primary focus on front-end engineering in React and Angular, while contributing across back-end services and AWS cloud. You will architect solutions, write production code, mentor engineers, and drive best practices in quality, security, and observability for a small, growing team with a startup feel.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $60.00 to $85.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Lead design and implementation of end-to-end solutions across front-end, back-end, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Architect and optimize AWS environments for scalability, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Develop high-quality, maintainable code with modern frameworks and languages including React, Angular, Node.js, Java, and Python.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and engineers to deliver user-focused applications.
  • Mentor and guide engineering teams, promoting best practices in coding, testing, CI/CD, and architecture.
  • Implement security standards, monitoring, and observability.
  • Contribute to microservices and RESTful API design.
  • Engage across teams and domains to drive outcomes beyond primary assignments.
Experience Requirements:
  • 8+ years in full stack development with 3+ years in a senior or principal capacity.
  • Strong UI development experience with Angular and React.
  • Back-end experience with Java and exposure to Node.js or Python.
  • Expertise with AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway, and CloudFormation.
  • Experience with relational databases such as Postgres or Oracle.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
  • Knowledge of mock frameworks and service virtualization preferred.
  • Ability to communicate with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience with systems supporting term life insurance operations is a plus.
Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
