Assistant Project Manager – Mission Critical Construction

Location: Amarillo, TX
Salary: $90,000 - $110,000

Overview

STV is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to support the construction of a large-scale mission critical facility (data center/high-tech infrastructure environment) in Amarillo, TX. This person will help manage project scheduling, field operations, subcontractor coordination, budgeting, safety, and project execution from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day management of a mission critical construction project.
  • Coordinate with owners, engineers, architects, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Track project schedules, milestones, and critical path activities.
  • Help manage material procurement and equipment deliveries.
  • Monitor field activities to ensure work stays on schedule and meets quality standards.
  • Assist with project budgeting, cost tracking, pay applications, and contract administration.
  • Support safety programs and ensure compliance with OSHA and site-specific requirements.
  • Identify and help resolve construction, design, scheduling, and logistics issues.
  • Work closely with inspection agencies and regulatory authorities.
  • Build strong relationships with project stakeholders and field teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of commercial construction experience.
  • Experience supporting large, complex construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Construction means and methods
    • Scheduling and project controls
    • Cost management and budgeting
    • Contract documents, drawings, and specifications
    • Construction safety and OSHA standards
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and construction management software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Data center or mission critical construction experience.
  • Experience working with multiple trades and large subcontractor teams.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
