What You'll Do

As a Power Distribution Engineer, you'll work alongside engineers, designers, project teams, and utility partners to support the planning and design of electrical distribution systems.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Assist with the design of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems serving residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
  • Support engineering calculations, including load analysis, voltage drop studies, and equipment selection.
  • Create and update engineering drawings, technical documents, and project reports.
  • Use industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, GIS, and other engineering tools to support project development.
  • Participate in field visits to gather data, verify existing conditions, and gain hands-on experience with utility infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Help ensure designs comply with applicable safety standards, codes, and engineering best practices.
  • Support project planning activities, schedules, and project documentation.
  • Apply analytical thinking and creative problem-solving to engineering challenges.
  • Continuously learn new technologies, industry practices, and engineering concepts.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Engineering Technology, or a related field.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

  • Familiarity with power systems, electrical design concepts, or utility operations.
  • Experience working in a technical, construction, or field environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
