Position Summary
The Raw Packer is responsible for packaging finished products while ensuring compliance with all food safety, quality, customer, and regulatory requirements. This position supports production operations by properly packing, labeling, inspecting, weighing, and preparing products for shipment while maintaining compliance with GMP, HACCP, Food Defense, Allergen Control, and company safety programs. The Production Packer is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area and reporting any packaging material or equipment issues that may impact product quality or food safety.
Essential Functions
• Package finished products according to company specifications and production requirements.
• Maintain clean and organized packing areas and production lines.
• Report to assigned workstation on time at the beginning of each shift and after breaks.
• Follow all food safety regulations and procedures to prevent contamination and product adulteration.
• Verify packaging materials are correct for the product being packaged.
• Measure, weigh, and count products and packaging materials.
• Inspect containers, packaging materials, and products to ensure packing specifications are met.
• Seal containers and packaging materials using approved equipment and tools.
• Load materials and products into packaging equipment.
• Assemble, line, and prepare cartons, crates, and containers.
• Place or pour products into containers using approved tools and equipment.
• Fold and tape boxes, apply labels, and stack finished products on pallets according to instructions.
• Report defective packaging materials, equipment problems, and quality concerns to Supervisors or Leads.
• Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Follow all GMP, HACCP, Food Defense, Allergen Control, PPE, and company safety requirements.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Previous food manufacturing, packaging, warehouse, or production experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Ability to perform basic visual quality inspections.
• Ability to maintain production pace with team members.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and basic reporting functions.
• Ability to follow detailed and complex procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Supervisors, Leads, and Production Management.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and food safety.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Work Environment
• Food manufacturing and pistachio processing facility.
• Exposure to production equipment, conveyors, forklifts, packaging machinery, and warehouse operations.
• Exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, heat, cold, humidity, noise, and varying environmental conditions.
• Indoor warehouse and manufacturing environment.
• Must comply with all GMP, HACCP, Food Defense, Allergen Control, sanitation, PPE, and company safety requirements.
