Pay: $48/hour; Potential conversion salary: $85,000–$100,000

Work Schedule: Onsite during the contract period, with potential for a hybrid schedule long-term. No travel required.

Job Description:

We are seeking a Network Engineer with an interest in VoIP, telephony, and enterprise networking to support day-to-day technology operations and ongoing infrastructure upgrades. This role will have a strong emphasis on supporting phone and communications systems while also providing exposure to Cisco Meraki networking, switching, wireless, firewalls, and connectivity.

The ideal candidate will have some foundational networking or technical support experience and be eager to continue developing their skills in an enterprise environment. You’ll work closely with senior engineers, gaining hands-on experience while contributing to a larger network modernization initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the daily support and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot issues involving VoIP, telephony, and business phone systems.
  • Provide technical assistance for Webex and related voice/communications services.
  • Help diagnose phone and connectivity problems and work with end users to resolve issues.
  • Assist with Cisco Meraki switching and other network infrastructure activities.
  • Support network hardware upgrades and replacement projects alongside senior engineers.
  • Participate in the replacement of outdated or unsupported switches.
  • Assist with wireless networking and connectivity-related projects.
  • Provide basic support for firewall and network security activities.
  • Gain hands-on exposure to Palo Alto firewall environments.
  • Assist with troubleshooting across voice, wired, wireless, and network connectivity systems.
  • Document technical issues, resolutions, and infrastructure changes.
  • Work alongside senior engineers to develop stronger enterprise networking and telephony skills.
  • Take on additional technical responsibilities as experience and knowledge grow.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience or exposure to networking, VoIP, telephony, or technical support.
  • Familiarity with Webex, Cisco, or comparable voice/communications platforms.
  • Exposure to Cisco Meraki or network switching.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical teams and end users.
  • Comfortable working onsite in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop within a network engineering career path.

Additional Details:

  • The role is particularly well suited for someone interested in developing expertise in VoIP and enterprise telephony while building broader networking skills.
  • Preferred experience includes wireless networking, Palo Alto firewalls, single-mode fiber, switch refresh projects, and enterprise connectivity support.
