What You'll Do

As a Direct Support Professional, you will:

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry, and personal care
• Support individuals in achieving goals outlined in their Individualized Service Plans (ISPs)
• Promote independence, self-advocacy, and personal choice
• Provide supervision, guidance, and skill-building support in residential and community settings
• Assist with medication administration following required training and agency protocols
• Transport individuals to medical appointments, recreational activities, family visits, and community events
• Foster positive relationships and encourage community involvement
• Monitor and respond appropriately to crisis situations and behavioral concerns
• Complete required documentation, logs, and reports accurately and on time
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment for individuals served

QualificationsRequired

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver's License
• Ability to pass state and federal background screenings
• Basic computer and internet skills
• Ability to read, write, and document in English
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred

• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Previous experience in caregiving, human services, behavioral health, or direct support roles
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain

Schedule

• Full-Time
• Flexible scheduling based on program needs
• Evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required
• Schedule subject to change based on individual and program needs

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, transfer, and assist with up to 50 pounds or more as needed
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and climb stairs regularly
• Ability to safely drive and transport individuals in the community
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
