CNC Machinist Operator

Day-To-Day:

A client of Insight Global is looking for a Machinist to sit fully onsite in Middle River. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC/NC machines to produce precision parts that meet engineering and quality requirements. On a daily basis, the individual reviews blueprints, technical drawings, and work specifications to determine machine setup requirements, tooling needs, fixture offsets, and tolerance calculations. They perform machine shop math to ensure accurate measurements and make adjustments to equipment as needed throughout the production process. The operator conducts quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators to verify that finished parts meet dimensional and quality standards. They also troubleshoot basic machining issues, maintain a safe and organized work environment, and collaborate with quality, engineering, and production teams to ensure manufacturing schedules and performance objectives are achieved.

Must Haves:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-4 years of CNC machine operation experience, or a trade school certification with at least 2 years of CNC machining experience.
• Ability to set up, operate, and troubleshoot NC/CNC machines using standard machining practices and techniques.
• Strong understanding of machine shop mathematics, including calculating tolerances and setting fixture offsets.
• Capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, and technical specifications.
• Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, height gauges, micrometers (inside, outside, and depth), and dial indicators to verify part quality and accuracy.
