Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

The General Production Worker supports the manufacturing of reinforced concrete pipe and precast products in a physically demanding, primarily outdoor environment. In this entry-level role, you mix materials, help mold and finish products, perform basic machine upkeep, and patch concrete pipes while following measurements and blueprints to ensure quality and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Mix materials and assist in molding reinforced concrete pipe and precast products according to production specifications.
  • Read and interpret tape measures and blueprints on a daily basis to ensure accurate measurements and proper product configuration.
  • Prepare, clean, and stage molds for concrete production to support efficient workflow and product quality.
  • Pour concrete into forms, finish surfaces, and remove concrete from molds once cured.
  • Patch and repair concrete pipes to meet quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance and basic upkeep of plant machinery and equipment.
  • Handle, move, and store concrete products safely in an outdoor manufacturing environment.
  • Work safely in a dirty, loud, dusty, and temperature-variable concrete plant, following all safety guidelines and using required personal protective equipment.
  • Stand, walk, and perform physically demanding tasks for 8 or more hours per day.
  • Collaborate with team members and follow instructions to meet production goals and support a dependable, hardworking production team.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure in daily work.
  • Experience working outdoors in physically demanding conditions.
  • Hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools in a labor or construction setting.
  • Ability to perform concrete work such as pouring, finishing, and patching.
  • Previous construction or concrete experience highly preferred.
  • Capability to read and follow blueprints is a plus.
  • Ability to stand on your feet for 8 or more hours per day.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Comfort working in dirty, loud, dusty, hot, and cold environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in concrete finishing or general construction labor.
  • Familiarity with reinforced concrete pipe or precast products.
  • Experience in an industrial or plant environment with basic machine upkeep.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including some Saturdays and extended hours after shift when needed.
  • Reliability, strong work ethic, and ability to follow safety procedures consistently.

Work Environment

This role is based in a concrete manufacturing plant with a tough, industrial work environment that is dirty, loud, dusty, and subject to hot and cold temperatures. Work takes place both indoors and outdoors, and the position is physically demanding, requiring extended periods of standing and manual labor. The standard schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with regular opportunities for overtime, including some Saturdays and additional hours after the normal shift, typically 10–20 hours per week. All tools needed for the job are provided, and uniforms are supplied after 30 days, with a steel-toe allowance available annually.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
