Job Description

This role involves performing a variety of hands-on tasks including landscaping, basic electrical installation, painting, and mechanical assembly work in a clean, temperature-controlled facility. You will operate equipment such as skid steers, tractors, and lawn mowers, use a wide range of hand and power tools, and assist with assembling conveyor systems and completing residential building projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform landscaping duties, including grounds maintenance and related outdoor tasks.
  • Operate equipment such as skid steers, tractors, and lawn mowers safely and efficiently.
  • Carry out basic electrical installation tasks under appropriate guidance.
  • Use hand and power tools, including ratchets, wrenches, battery-operated and pneumatic tools, to complete assigned work.
  • Measure materials accurately by reading and interpreting a tape measure.
  • Perform hand brush and roller painting on residential buildings to meet quality standards.
  • Assist in assembling conveyor systems within the facility according to specifications or blueprints.
  • Follow instructions and blueprints when performing mechanical assembly, construction, or carpentry tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and contribute to overall workplace safety.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and support cross-training initiatives across different departments.
  • Complete tasks within scheduled timeframes and be available to work overtime during the typical workweek as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort with hands-on, physical work.
  • Ability to read and interpret a tape measure accurately.
  • Experience using hand tools such as ratchets, wrenches, and other common mechanical tools.
  • Experience with battery-operated and pneumatic power tools.
  • Basic knowledge of landscaping or construction duties.
  • Ability to perform general labor tasks in production, construction, carpentry, landscaping, and electrical-related work.
  • Capability to follow instructions, including basic blueprints or diagrams, when assembling equipment or structures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience in mechanical assembly, construction, or carpentry is preferred.
  • Experience interpreting and working from blueprints is preferred.
  • Previous exposure to production environments or facility-based work is beneficial.
  • Comfort working with a variety of tools and equipment in both indoor and outdoor settings.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and cross-train in different departments.

Work Environment

This position is based in a temperature-controlled facility that is clean and well lit, with modern amenities including a fully finished break room and stocked vending machines. Work is performed primarily on 1st shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with overtime worked as needed during the typical workweek and not on weekends. The role involves both indoor facility work, such as mechanical assembly and conveyor system installation, and outdoor tasks like landscaping and equipment operation.

This is a Permanent position based out of Howard, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.30 - $23.30/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
