Tool Rental Depot, a premier certified Hustler Turf equipment dealer, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Small Engine Technician to join our service department. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of small engine and outdoor power equipment, with a focus on Hustler turf products.
- Work on two-stroke and four-stroke engines, diagnosing and repairing fuel systems, ignition systems, and electrical issues.
- Conduct routine and preventive maintenance, including oil changes, tune-ups, and filter replacements.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems using technical documents and diagnostic tools.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with customers about equipment issues, repair plans, and cost estimates.
- Keep detailed, accurate records of repairs, maintenance performed, and parts used.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date on technical advancements and certifications, especially those related to Hustler equipment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a small engine mechanic, with experience in outdoor power equipment being highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with various hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to complete tasks with accuracy.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with engine repair.
- High school diploma or GED required. Vocational or technical training is preferred.
- Certifications from recognized organizations (e.g., EETC, Briggs & Stratton, Kohler, Honda, Kawasaki) are a plus.
