This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys keeping materials organized, maintaining accurate inventory, and making sure production has the right components at the right time.
You'll work closely with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, and Shipping/Receiving and play an important role in keeping manufacturing running efficiently.
What You'll Do
- Perform daily cycle counts and reconcile physical inventory against system quantities.
- Kit electronic components and materials for production work orders, verifying correct part numbers and quantities.
- Maintain accurate inventory transactions, material traceability, and supporting documentation.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and determine root causes before making corrections.
- Monitor floor stock, reorder points, and material availability to prevent shortages and production delays.
- Review open work orders and coordinate material requirements with Production, Engineering, and Purchasing.
- Create purchase requisitions for materials approaching established reorder levels.
- Maintain an organized stockroom and ensure materials are properly identified, stored, protected, and traceable.
- Support WIP and month-end inventory counts throughout manufacturing.
- Assist with Shipping/Receiving, including incoming materials, inventory movement, packaging, labeling, and shipment verification.
- Maintain proper handling practices for electronic components, including applicable ESD requirements.
- Support inventory costing for components manufactured in-house, including average-cost calculations and documentation.
- Help improve inventory procedures, storage methods, accuracy, and overall material flow.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of hands-on inventory control and kitting experience.
- 2+ years of experience in electronics, electrical, electromechanical, or similar manufacturing.
- Experience with cycle counting, work orders, BOMs/material requirements, stockroom operations, and inventory transactions.
- Strong computer skills, including Excel and inventory/ERP systems.
- Ability to investigate discrepancies and maintain highly accurate records.
- Experience supporting production material requirements and working with Purchasing and Shipping/Receiving.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree is a plus.
