Job Summary:
The Machine Operator Assistant supports full line manufacturing operations, ensuring high-quality production, safety, and process efficiency. This role requires reliability, close attention to detail, and the ability to follow established procedures. The Assistant will collaborate with team members to achieve production goals and uphold Smurfit Westrock’s core values of Safety, Loyalty, Integrity, and Respect.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist with machine setup, calibration, and operation of manufacturing equipment
- Monitor product quality to ensure compliance with company standards
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting using hand tools
- Accurately document production data, downtime, and maintenance in computer systems
- Maintain effective communication with team members and supervisors to resolve issues quickly
- Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE, including steel/composite toe shoes
- Support on-time delivery by adhering to instructions and maintaining a strong attention to detail
- Work flexible shifts, including 3rd shift (11pm–7am) and overtime as needed
- Operate effectively in a non-climate-controlled environment
